BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: BRIGHT YOUNG WOMEN

📖 BOOK TITLE: BRIGHT YOUNG WOMEN  📖AUTHOR: JESSICA KNOLL 📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtysixthBookOf2024 I can't believe I've really read this book; honestly, a lot of work went into this book. I spent six days reading this book; I read, I stopped, I read some more, and I thought about what I read.  What The Defendant did to all those girls was really bad 😥 and I personally felt that the legal system downplayed the magnitude of his crimes.  What I want to know is why he committed all those crimes; what was his motive? Does he even have a motive? The Defendant is not handsome, intelligent, or any of the other adjectives that were used to describe him. He is just a common man who decided he wanted to do bad things just for his own sake. What a fool!  Pamela I can't even begin to imagine what you had to go through, from seeing him face-to-face to stepping up as a leader for the girls and The House. PAMELA YOU ARE A LEADER!! 📖RATINGS: 4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUO

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: READY OR NOT

📖 BOOK TITLE: READY OR NOT  📖AUTHOR: CARA BARSTONE  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtyFifthBookOf2024 #LetterR Of My Alphabet Challenge  This is the first time I've read a story featuring a pregnant female heroine. I cannot believe it took a baby to bring Shep and Eve together. Love can arrive at any time 😍. Shep is the new standard 😍. A man who is only there to make things easier is that not what every girl needs 💕😌. TTC ladies was a theme I never expected to find in books, but books depict every real-life circumstance. Which is why I was not surprised when Eve's best friend Willa acted the way she did; she was overwhelmed with various types of emotions, which is fine. I'm really thrilled that everyone was there for Eve; it does take a community to raise a child. 📖RATINGS: 4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THICK OF LOVE

📖 BOOK TITLE: THICK OF LOVE  📖AUTHOR: DANIELLE MARCUS  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtyfourthBookOf2024 What will you do when fifteen years of your life go down the drain and you have nothing to do about it? What will you do when your family can no longer stay the same way? What will you do when the lies become too much? In this story, we follow the lives of three women, Dallas, Candace, and Sasha, and their men's problems, so to speak😂. And truly, men will stain your clothes when you let them, and if you think you've seen enough of men's lies, read this book. It's mind-blowing what men will do to wreck a good thing.  Dallas gave him fifteen years of her life, gave him two kids, and he still chose to cheat and marry a younger woman. Dallas did all she could to bring her man back home, but her man decided on staying OUT!  Candace and Sasha had similar problems as well, but I felt really hurt for what Hunter did to Sasha. After reading what he did, I p

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THE COLLECTED REGRETS OF CLOVER

📖 BOOK TITLE:  THE COLLECTED REGRETS OF CLOVER  📖AUTHOR: MIKKI BRAMMER  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtythirdBookOf2024 The main theme surrounding the story was "GRIEF" and while the story did justice to the theme, I don't think it requires 55 chapters to do so. The book was dragging, but I had to finish it.  In this story, we meet Clover, who is a death doula (I know y'all have only ever heard about birth doulas), but that is what Clover does; she helps prepare you for your death. While I didn't particularly appreciate the extended chapters, I did enjoy the plot. It is easy to use something as a mask to avoid certain social interactions, and that is what Clover used her job to do as a way to avoid interactions with living people.  I am glad she found her will to live again and found love during the process.  📖RATINGS: 3 STARS ⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: 1.Giving someone the chance to be seen at their most vulnerable is much more healing than any words 2.I

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THE MURDER AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE

📖 BOOK TITLE: THE MURDER AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE  📖AUTHOR: KATY BRENT  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirthysecondBookOf2024 Wow, deep breathes 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ I must say that it took me some time to get into the story, but once I did, I couldn't put it down!!! There are so many mysteries, deaths, and suspense. 🤯🤯.  I can't believe the murderer was someone I didn't suspect. I enjoy the storyline and the subtitles at the beginning of each chapter. 😂 #MuckyMolly I guess I'll have to look for more Katy Brent books because this one was fantastic. 📖RATINGS: 4 STARS⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: □ Grief affects every atom of your being, not just your mind □ I’m a work in progress

#4 BOOKSIRENS READ: PARALLEL

📖BOOK TITLE: PARALLEL  📖AUTHOR: HOPE BOLINGER  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtyfirsthBookOf2024 #Arc I want to thank the publisher, author, and booksirens for granting my request to read this book for free in exchange for my honest opinions. When I read the synopsis of the book, I immediately wanted to read this book because all the craze about multiverses just hit me since Dark Matter and Parallel left me craving more books with similar themes. So, cheers to reading more books about multiverses 🍻🥂! Jonas and Sonja's relationship was so cute, and I totally get the feeling when you think you've met the 'One', that one person that totally gets you, that person that loves your quirks, that one person that just loves you 😍. I love love 💕, I am such a hopeless romantic, but I enjoyed their relationship, and particularly how they were so sure that they wanted to make their relationship long-term (marriage) despite their young age!  But that's the pr

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THE GOOD,THE BAD AND THE AUNTIES

📖BOOK TITLE: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE AUNTIES  📖AUTHOR: JESSE Q SUTANTO  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #ThirtiethBookOf2024 I love the aunties, I love Meddy and Nathan, and I hate to see these characters go😥. This book marks the end of the Aunties Series. Starting with Dial A For Aunties, I enjoyed the aunties and Meddy; then to Four Aunties And A Wedding, I kept wondering what could go wrong at a wedding, but I guess even having the aunties around comes with its own casualty; 😂 and then to the final book, The Good, The Bad, and the Aunties, this book made me laugh out loud 😂. There is a particular part of the book that the aunties really cracked me up , and I will love to share it: Now you know you shouldn’t fuck with me.”Ma gasps. “Why you think we want to f—fudge with you? We don’t want to f—fudge with you. Why your mind is so pervert?”For the first time, Rochelle looks unsure. “Uh, I didn’t mean it in a literal sense. It means like, to screw with someone.”Second

#10 NETGALLEY READ: LOVE IN TANDEM

📖 BOOK TITLE: LOVE IN TANDEM  📖AUTHOR: BECCA KINZER  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-ninthBookOf2024 #LetterL Of My Alphabet Challenge  Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for granting my request to read this book in exchange for my honest opinions. If you need a feel-good romance that will bring back the butterflies in your stomach, this book is it. It was such an easy read, with an amazing storyline and great characters.  📖RATINGS:  4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: □ when life gets tough, the best thing you can do is eat, not think □ “Sometimes it’s not about feeling ready. It’s about finding something  you don’t want to lose, then vowing to never stop going after it no matter   how many setbacks you have along the way.” □ our plans don’t always play out like we think they will.

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN:THE LAST LOVE NOTE

📖 BOOK TITLE: THE LAST LOVE NOTE  📖AUTHOR: EMMA GREY 📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-EighthBookOf2024  Ok, I am in between with this book. I like it, but not so much. The main theme in this book was GRIEF, and while the book did justice to it, it lacked emotional depth for me. I enjoyed how the book ended.  📖RATINGS: 3 STARS ⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: □ The problem with grief. It’s not packed tidily in a box that you can bring out in appropriate, private moments and sort through. It’s threaded inconveniently through everything. □ The bigger risk is not taking a risk.’ □ You don’t recover from it. There is no ‘healed’ moment. You just absorb it into your new life, somehow, and go from there. □ Even in loss, there’s so much more to life. □ Life is short, love is grand

WHO AM I?

In this chapter of the Weekly Special, I am going to dive into who I am aside from being a book reviewer! I know y'all are probably thinking that all I do with my time is read books and rate them on a scale of five 😂😂. Probably not! So the question is, Who is RayoReads? I am Rayo, and this is who I am aside from reading and reviewing books. 1. I am a student at Delta State University in Abraka studying physiology. How cool, right? (just joking) 😂😂 . When school is in session, studies take up most of my time, which is why I am so happy when we go on breaks.  2. I am a very introverted person, which you will have guessed, so no partying, going out , excessive friends, and the rest. 3. I am an indoors person, but that does not mean I sleep a lot 💤😂 .P.S.: I don't like taking afternoon naps. 4. I am not a big social person, but you can find me on Facebook: (  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087184700959&mibextid=ZbWKwL )    Instagram (  https://www.i

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: FINDING FRIENDS AT THE CORNISH COUNTRY HOSPITAL

📖 BOOK TITLE: FINDING FRIENDS AT THE CORNISH COUNTRY HOSPITAL  📖AUTHOR: JO BARTLETT  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-SeventhBookOf2024 #LetterF Of My Alphabet Challenge  OMG! I am so happy to be reading the second installment in the Cornish Country Hospital Series, and when I said, 'Count me in for every book in this series', I wasn't kidding ☺️😍. From the very first book, I loved the storyline, characters, and plot. In fact, I love everything about this book💕. In the first book, the story follows Danni struggling to get her feelings right for her best friend Fiance, and I am so glad that she scaled through it. And in this second book, the story follows Esther moving on from a seven year relationship💔. I loved how the book fixated on Esther and her family. Esther as a character—I can't even look for a perfect adjective to describe her, but she is the best! And I am even more happy for her that she has her own love story. Second chances are great f

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: GOOD MATERIAL

📖 BOOK TITLE:   GOOD MATERIAL  📖AUTHOR:   DOLLY ALDERTON  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-sixthBookOf2024 #LetterG Of My Alphabet Challenge   I didn't find this book interesting at all; I struggled to finish it. There was nothing wrong with the story or the writing; I just didn't like it. 📖RATINGS:  3 STARS⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: □ the people we want to be with don’t want to be with us and the people who want to be with us are not the people we want to be with.

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: SOMEDAY, MAYBE

📖BOOK TITLE:   SOMEDAY, MAYBE  📖AUTHOR:   ONYI NWABINELI  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-fifthBookOf2024 #LetterS Of My Alphabet Challenge Grief something so bitter that threatens to take over our lives. I dont know how I am supposed to feel about this book 😥 it's so depressing. Everyone grieves differently and in different stages as well, there is not a one size fits all for grief. Each person handles their hurt in the best way they can possibly can and so did Eve. It was not her fault that Q died neither is it her fault that he didn't open up to her more😪 I loved how Eve's family stood by her despite their busy schedules, they made her a priority. Family is everything they truly are ☺️. Her friendships with Bee,luisa and Drew played a very significant role in her healing. To Everyone Grieving I just want to say that you will get better eventually, give yourself time and don't push people away from you because you need them . 📖RATINGS:  4 STAR

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: JUST FOR THE SUMMER

📖 BOOK TITLE:   JUST FOR THE SUMMER  📖AUTHOR: MELODY CARLSON  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-FourthBookOf2024 #LetterJ Of My Alphabet Challenge  Ginny discovers that her job is making her unhappy, so to speak, and is not bringing her the satisfaction she wants, so despite her busy schedule, she found a website where you can swap jobs for the summer, and she registered. Another lady whose name was Jacqueline also registered on that site( sidenote: I didn't really like Jacqueline that much 😌). So both of them swapped jobs for a stipulated period, and the rest, they say, is history. I loved how easy the storyline was. The storyline gave everything it was supposed to give. After reading a book about grief, I needed to get out of that slump, and I found this gem of a book (books are beautiful getaways). It did everything to bring me out of that grieving slump ☺️😍, and afterwards, what did I do? I read another book about grief 😂😂 📖RATINGS:  4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: HELLO, STRANGER

📖BOOK TITLE:  HELLO, STRANGER  📖AUTHOR:   KATHERINE CENTER  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-thirdBookOf2024 #LetterH Of My Alphabet Challenge  I found this book when I was looking for recommendations for clean romance, and this book did it for me 😍❤. I loved that the book wasn't centered on romance, though it was there, but it focused more on the main character, Sadie. After having a brain surgery that left her unable to see faces, she has to focus on those small details that make a person apart from the face, and she also has to find herself again and discover who she is. In the process, she found love ❤. It is never too late to start again! 📖RATINGS:  4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: YOU'VE REACHED SAM

📖 BOOK TITLE: YOU'VE REACHED SAM 📖AUTHOR:   DUSTIN THAO 📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #Twenty-secondBookOf2024 #LetterY Of My Alphabet Challenge  How do you move forward when everything you love is on the line?Ok, deep breaths. Why haven't I read this book earlier? Some parts of the book got me really teary 😥😪. You will think that loss gets easier as the day goes by, but the truth is that it gets harder with each passing day. You can never truly understand what grief does to someone until you have gone through it, and comforting someone with the usual phrase 'I know how you feel' when you have never gone through anything of that sort is total bullshit! I loved how this book painted the intricacies of grief. It is never easy, and it is not going to get easier. This book made me understand what it feels like to be bereaved. Sometimes life happens, and it hits so hard that you will want to give up and blame yourself for it. It's not your fault; take you

LIFE LESSONS FROM CONFESSIONS OF AN ALLEGED GOOD GIRL

BOOK OF CHOICE : CONFESSIONS OF AN ALLEGED GOOD GIRL BY JOYA GOFFNEY  LESSONS: 1. Monitor your kids closely. 2. Don't judge a book by its cover. In this case, I am talking  about people, because just because a person acts nice on the outside doesn't mean that they are all-around good, and vice versa. 3. Give people a chance. Just like Momo gives Reggie and Sasha a chance.  4. Honesty pays; if Momo has been honest with her parents and herself, a lot of things won't have happened. 5. Parents, don't force your dreams and expectations on your children. 6. Educate your child on sex properly. 7. As parents, you can and will make mistakes; it is what you do to correct them that matters.  QUES: What other lesson did you learn from this book?
