BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: RADIO SILENCE

“HELLO. I HOPE SOMEBODY IS LISTENING …” πŸ“š AUTHOR: ALICE OSEMAN  πŸ“š BOOK TITLE: RADIO SILENCE  πŸ“š THOUGHTS&OPINIONS: I can't keep calm !! This book is fucking amazing 😍😍. I loved it from the very first page and I think I beginning to love alice Oseman🀭🀭 I so much loved the transcripts from the podcast: Universe City. I dont know if it is weird to say this but it was as if I was right there where everything was happening; it was so reallll I honestly could relate with Frances where it seems like the only thing you are good at is Academics so you make your entire life revolve around while closing yourself from the real world; and by the time you look back it feels like you are all aloneπŸ˜ͺ A very beautiful book about FRIENDSHIPS πŸ₯° you can be friends with a boy and still not be romantically involved!! Aled and Frances seemed very similar in the way they think and act. Group of friends coming through for just one person is so reassuring. I do not ...

πŸ“š  AUTHOR:  JAYNE ALLEN  πŸ“š  BOOK TITLE: BLACK GIRLS MUST BE MAGIC( BOOK 2) πŸ“š THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  For me this book felt kind of rushed and I was definitely not expecting to see Mack in the story again but unfortunately for me he was there throughout every chapter πŸ˜’πŸ˜„. Tabby  with her friends( Alexis and Laila ) and Miss Gretchen are going to prove that it takes a village to raise a child. Yeah, Tabby is going to be a mother πŸ€—πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰. Can't wait to read the last book in this triology πŸ€—❤ πŸ“š RATINGS: ⭐⭐⭐(3 stars)

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: BLACK GIRLS MUST DIE EXHAUSTED

πŸ“š  AUTHOR: JAYNE ALLEN  πŸ“š BOOK TITLE: BLACK GIRLS MUST DIE EXHAUSTED(BOOK 1) πŸ“šTHOUGHTS&OPINIONS: This is the first book in this triology, I was captivated by the cover 😍. Being a black woman working in a news station where you are constantly compelled to do more and bring your A game can be somewhat tiring. Even more tiring when you are thinking of having a familyπŸ˜ͺ.  Tabby wants to have a family with a man she loves but when the doctor told her the condition about her " eggs"  she has to act fast. I didn't feel the Chemistry between Mack and Tabby , it felt like a relationship of convenience. She told Mack about her condition and he didn't even care πŸ’”πŸ˜ͺ. I love the trio friendship between Tabby, Lexi and Laila 😍😍, friendships in books I love it. i also love the duo friendship between Grandma Tabby and Ms Gretchen. πŸ“š RATINGS: ⭐⭐⭐⭐(4 STARS)

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: YELLOWFACE

πŸ“š  BOOK TITLE: YELLOWFACE   πŸ“š AUTHOR: R.F KAUNG  πŸ“š  THOUGHTS & OPINIONS: What a book!! I dont know why I didn't read this book earlier (P.S it has been on my TBR for the longest time 😩).  I love this book, it really opened my eyes to the publishing world. Beautiful story! Wonderful written characters! Alot of work goes into books before we can see them on bookshelves and finally appreciate the storyline. As I was reading, i felt scared for June because she was constantly comparing herself to Athena, even stole her workπŸ˜ͺ I was patiently waiting to see how the ending will be, I kept guessing and guessing but none of my guesses were how the book endedπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. So I was shocked when I saw how the ending played out( I don't like including spoilers in my review but i have to say this CANDICE you are such an unprofessional idiot, you got fired and you go after somebody's career: something that the person worked really hard for πŸ˜’ ) πŸ’” Were Athena...

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THE SECRET LIVES OF BABA SEGI'S WIVES

πŸ“š AUTHOR: Lola Shoneyin πŸ“š BOOK TITLE: The Secret Lives Of Baba Segi's Wives  πŸ“š GENRE:  πŸ“š THOUGHTS&OPINIONS: This book has been on my TBR πŸ“–✨  for a long time now( P.S I put my self on restrictions shh 🀫I have to finish all the book on my TBR before this year runs outπŸ˜‚πŸ˜©). Anyway back to the book. THE SECRET LIVES OF BABA SEGI'S WIVES is a book about a polygamous family comprising of 4 wives namely IYA SEGI,IYA TOPE AND IYA FEMI and BOLANLE THE GRADUATE and 7 children( I found Akin the most interesting). The book tackles sensitive themes like rape, abuse, cheating, hatred and others in such a way it didn't make me cringe. 3 things I loved about this book: 1.  I loved that the author gave us a backstory of each character. It made each character come to life and very real  and  it is also told from different POVS so I was able to understand why each character acted the way they acted. 2.  I loved the fact that the book fo...

#6 NETGALLEY READ: MOCKINGBIRD SUMMER

πŸ“š BOOK TITLE: Mockingbird Summer πŸ“š AUTHOR: Lynda Rutledge  πŸ“š   PUB DATE: 30th January 2024 πŸ“š GENRE: Historical Fiction ||   Coming of age story  πŸ“š  THOUGHTS&OPINIONS: Thank you Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this wonderful book.  Firstly I was captivated by the cover of the book, so simple yet it was able to draw me in.  Although I didn't experience the era in which this book was written, I could deeply grasp the heart-wrenching reality of segregation between whites and blacks. It's a profoundly saddening issue that left its mark on every part of the society, from churches and playgrounds to shops and schools. As I delved deeper into the book, I found myself increasingly emotional, prompting me to set it aside at times to absorb the weight of the narrative.( I am very emotional πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜“πŸ˜) High Cotton,Texas is  a town divided by a railroad track, with the Southside reserved for blacks and the Northside for whites. #5 NETGALLEY READ:WELCOME TO THE CORNISH COUNTRY HOSPITAL

Thank you #NetGalley, the brilliant author and the wonderful publisher for this gem❤ πŸ“š Thoughts&Opinions: I would love to say to Jo Bartlett that this work is really amazing. This book transported me straight to the world of Port Kara!  It's like living and breathing alongside these captivating characters. This book is giving The Good Doctor vibes🀭. Perfectly built characters and I love Charlie the most(Team charlie all the way❤πŸ’ƒ). In this novel, there is a combination of medicine, love, family, friends, intriguing secrets and secret affairs and a dash of romantic turmoils all mashed up together to create this beautiful story, I can't  wait for the next book in the series. πŸ–πŸ– πŸ’” Connie&Richard - 40 years of hiding their love πŸ˜₯ πŸ’ž  Esther&Dannie - Their friendship is an absolute treasure.   I yearn for a friend who cherishes me as Esther does Dannie. But I this isn't about me; back to the book! πŸ˜©πŸ“š πŸ’” Esther&Lucas -was t...

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: THE THREE OF US

πŸ“š Thoughts&Opinions: My initial reaction to "The Three Of Us" was a mixture of curiosity and confusion. My confusion was  because I didn't know the story was told from 3 different points of views(POV'S) first the wife, then the husband and Temi(the friend). Throughout this book only Temi's name was mentioned, was it intentional?  This book is about a married  couple and the nosy friend who constantly tries to come in between them. Temi controls her friend and her friend is oblivious of that friend. Constantly throwing herself under the bus for a friend who doesn't care about her and  her marriage. Like I said in the first paragraph, I found this book confusing the ending felt like a riddle waiting to be unraveled. πŸ“š Genre : General Fiction || Women's Fiction  πŸ“š Ratings : 2 stars ⭐⭐ Ques:  Have you ever encountered a book that left you with mixed feelings like "The Three Of Us"? Share your thoughts below! πŸ“–✨ #BookReview  #AmRea...
