BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: LOVE, OFF THE RECORD

📖BOOK TITLE: LOVE,OFF THE RECORD

📖AUTHOR: SAMANTHA MARKUM

📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:
#NinetyEighthBookOf2024 #2BooksToHundred 🎉🎉

My heart goes out to every YA romance author ♡. Now I can honestly say that enemies to lovers is not my best trope in a romance novel; the banter, the insults, and, let's not forget, the incessant bickering, but... OMG, Wyn and Three,😍😍 do we have a couple name for them yet 🤭🥰?

Wyn is trying to enjoy the traditional college experience while battling with her body image. Wyn loves her body, but sometimes it's just too much. Three ( I would have loved to read this story from his perspective.) He had a lot going on, and I felt it was not talked about enough in this story.

As much as I wanted to connect to this love story, I didn't quite connect to it, but I loved the whole backstory. Three and Wyn did so much work as grunts, and I love that for them, and let's not forget the beautiful friendship that was formed. I wish we could have a sequel to Wyn's and Three's love story.

📖RATINGS: 3 STARS ⭐⭐⭐

📖QUOTES:

Dwelling on old hurts helps no one.

I’m pretty sure that’s part of the traditional college experience is getting here and realizing the competition wasn’t all that steep in high school. but that doesn’t mean you aren’t smart or good at what you do. it just means college is a bigger challenge.

#17 NETGALLEY READ: SOME LIKE IT SCOT

📖 BOOK TITLE: SOME LIKE IT SCOT  📖AUTHOR: PEPPER BASHAM  📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #135thBookOf2024 Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for granting my request to read this e-ARC and provide my honest opinions. It has been long since I've felt all the feels of a romantic swoon, and this book filled my heart with a renewed faith in love and what love can do to a person. I kept wishing for this book not to end for me to continue immersing myself in the richness of the love story between Graeme (I pronounce this as "grim" in my head; I hope that is correct 😂) and Katie. These two give a whole different meaning to love, 🥰🥰 and I love it for them. Katie, the travel writer who does not have roots in any place, meets Graeme, who has a loving family in Mull and is not thinking of going anywhere any time soon. After meeting our two MCs, I thought that maybe this was just going to be a fling, but alas, with these two, the word fling doesn'...

BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: REMEMBER ME TOMORROW

📖 BOOK TITLE: REMEMBER ME TOMORROW  📖AUTHOR: FARAH HERON 📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:  #127thBookOf2024 Yes, this book is a little bonkers. This is a very unconventional love story, and you have to really get at it to grasp the story between Jay and Aleeza. You know I love everything time travel/parallel universe-related, and with each fiction book I read about this topic, my mind is blown away every single time. Yes, there's more mystery elements than the rom-com because how can Aleeza be in love with Jay, who is not even in her timeline, talk about a guy who is unavailable? I loved how put together this book was, how the mystery elements worked together; there was no point in this book that was left to assumptions; everything was explained well without being boring and overly descriptive. Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and definitely this will not be my last Farah Heron's book. 📖RATINGS: 4 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖QUOTES: ♤ Time isn’t linear. There are an infin...

FROM ONE TO FIVE

Another Saturday, another bookish rant😂😊. Welcome to another chapter of weekly special book lovers 📚😍. The star rating system: a simple way to sum up our thoughts on a book, or an outdated habit that's due for a change? The other day I saw a post on Instagram about whether book reviewers still made use of "stars" when reviewing books, and I was compelled to make this a topic on my book segment! So the question is, 'Do reviewers and generally book lovers still make use of stars when reviewing books?' As a book reviewer myself, I love making use of stars, and I will never stop making use of them except a better system comes up for scaling books 😂. It is also true that I correct my ratings accordingly. What do I mean by this? This is what I mean: when rating books, I go by my mood and excitement after completion of the book, and I immediately rate books. I may look back on my emotions after reading a particular book and correct my ratings. I recently...
