After I read 'It Had to Be You' by Eliza Jane Braizer, I realized I needed more of that particular kind of story, and that brought me to 'Jewel Me Twice'.
The first thing that put me off was that there was no point of view (POV) for both the FMC (Celeste) and the MMC (Magnus), but still I moved through the story. After Dr. Doris Grant died and the mysterious red envelopes started rolling out, I wanted to know what Dr. Grant had planned, even from the grave.
Doris succeeded in bringing the crew back together for one last job, but I had a feeling it was more than the job; why bring the crew back to Stockholm, where everything went south? I also had a feeling that none of the crew members, including Celeste, knew Doris that well.
Also, I felt the romance between Celeste and Magnus overshadowed every other event in this book.
Such an insightful review
