BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN: ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF

📖BOOK TITLE: ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF

📖AUTHOR: ONYI NWABINELI

📖THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:
#SixtysixthBookOf2024
The moment I read the blurb, I knew that I had to read this book. This is a story that hits so close to home. Many times I stumble on parents documenting their children's lives on social media, and while it's not bad in itself, it is the backlash that is the problem, and you can't save your children from these.

Countless kid pictures are used as memes to express rage, contempt, laughter, and the rest, and these are pictures saved from the internet. The internet never forgets!! This book gives us an insider's view into social media influencers lives, particularly  "momfluencers." Anuri had to fight for her independence with a woman who raised her. And now I am starting to think: was it all about money, popularity, and fame for Ophelia? Why did she not see reason even when her family was falling apart?

I loved that Loki's and Simi's friendship was so true and pure—we can't go through life's muddy waters alone. Anuri's genuine love for her sister is worthy of being emulated.

This is a great and insightful read about social media and its effects on children, tweens, and teens entering adulthood.👍

FROM ONE TO FIVE

Another Saturday, another bookish rant😂😊. Welcome to another chapter of weekly special book lovers 📚😍. The star rating system: a simple way to sum up our thoughts on a book, or an outdated habit that's due for a change? The other day I saw a post on Instagram about whether book reviewers still made use of "stars" when reviewing books, and I was compelled to make this a topic on my book segment! So the question is, 'Do reviewers and generally book lovers still make use of stars when reviewing books?' As a book reviewer myself, I love making use of stars, and I will never stop making use of them except a better system comes up for scaling books 😂. It is also true that I correct my ratings accordingly. What do I mean by this? This is what I mean: when rating books, I go by my mood and excitement after completion of the book, and I immediately rate books.
