BOOK REVIEW RUNDOWN:THE MARRIAGE CLASS

๐Ÿ“–BOOK TITLE: THE MARRIAGE CLASS

๐Ÿ“–AUTHOR: ADESUWA O'MAN NWOKEDI

๐Ÿ“–THOUGHTS&OPINIONS:

#FourtyFourthBookOf2024

I don't know why the topic of marriage is so intriguing that I'll always read or talk about it. My Facebook feed is filled with topics about marriages, so when I saw this book, I knew right there that I'll read it.

So this book is about ten different couples with different love dynamics, stories, and personalities, all attending a wedding class in Lagos State, Nigeria. We see how different decisions affect and influence their views about each other.

Now I'll be starting with Abi&Raymond- my least favorite couple out of the ten, but anyway, Abi doesn't like the easy love Raymond shows her, so we see how she self-sabotages her new-found love with her ex. It is very funny how she sees all the red flags in her ex, and subconsciously she wants him back because, according to her, "Raymond love is too easy."

Ngozi&Zulu- the Igbo love duo, ๐Ÿ˜‚, Ngozi never saw herself loving an uncouth man, so to speak, but what can she do when she is losing numbers "age wise"? But eventually, love prevailed ๐Ÿ˜Œ. I was so happy for them ๐Ÿ’•.

Ewa&Sanya- my favorites out of the ten, We see Ewa grow from the materialistic lady she was to someone who was willing to improve herself. She listened and headed to the advice of her man, if you no love who fit pay 14million naira debt who Ewa wan love nah๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Bianca&Prince- just like Abi I thought they wouldn't make it because it was just too much. How did they do it? Long distance for almost 3 years or so. This can only happen when there is communication, truth, and mutual love between two people who have determined that they will do everything possible to make their relationship work.

April&Boma- these two, oh my God ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ
Kris&Bola- I had this thought that why will Bola date someone twice his age, but I guess love knows no bounds. When you know, you know.

Chioma&A.K- the beauty and the beast situation ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ and no it is not the man that is the beast ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ throughout the book I tried to imagine what the beast ๐Ÿ˜looks like but I just can't ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ chai A.K got his work cut out for him geezzzz

Ivie&Eric- a reverse of Kris and Bola situation ๐Ÿ˜

Nkoyo&Nosa- a child can't bring people who are not in love together; it is better to co-parent.

Omasan&Itseโ€”these two i felt for Omasan particularly nineteen years just thrown away like that๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I wish some of the couples stories had run off particularly itse & omasan ๐Ÿ˜ซ

FROM ONE TO FIVE

Another Saturday, another bookish rant๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Š. Welcome to another chapter of weekly special book lovers ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜. The star rating system: a simple way to sum up our thoughts on a book, or an outdated habit that's due for a change? The other day I saw a post on Instagram about whether book reviewers still made use of "stars" when reviewing books, and I was compelled to make this a topic on my book segment! So the question is, 'Do reviewers and generally book lovers still make use of stars when reviewing books?' As a book reviewer myself, I love making use of stars, and I will never stop making use of them except a better system comes up for scaling books ๐Ÿ˜‚. It is also true that I correct my ratings accordingly. What do I mean by this? This is what I mean: when rating books, I go by my mood and excitement after completion of the book, and I immediately rate books. I may look back on my emotions after reading a particular book and correct my ratings. I recently...
